Cone Beam Computerized Tomography

Cone Beam Computerized Tomography also CBCT – combines a series of X-ray views taken from many different planes, which is processed by a computer to create cross-sectional images of the bones of your jaws. CBCT is used in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery as a diagnostic tool, which allows Dr. Ahani to more easily make diagnoses, and realize important anatomic structures, such as the nerve canal, the maxillary sinuses, and the nasal cavity so as to minimize surgical complications. CBCT has become a powerful and common instrument for wisdom teeth and dental implant treatments. This technology also allows Dr. Ahani to measure exactly how much bone, or lack there of, exists in your jaws, and the necessity to reconstruct the area for dental implant placement. Such technology also makes it possible to plan cases more accurately, and is extremely useful in treatment planning of complex dental implant and wisdom teeth cases.
